The issue of plagiarism in academic papers is not only a matter to be taken extremely seriously, but—following several high-profile cases in recent years—it is also a highly topical issue. You should therefore handle your sources very carefully when writing your academic papers.
If you do happen to make a mistake—and to avoid accusations of plagiarism from the outset—it’s advisable to run your paper through plagiarism-detection software.
Please note that we assume no liability for the completeness or accuracy of the results of the software-based plagiarism check of your final papers, nor for any consequences arising therefrom!
We treat your data confidentially; our General Privacy Policy applies. The data security of the online plagiarism-checking software we use is beyond our control; therefore, the submission of papers marked as “restricted” is done at your own risk.
But please note: We cannot, of course, review papers marked “confidential”! Above all, these should not be uploaded via our form, as they are strictly confidential!
Each student may submit three papers per degree program!
FAQs
I didn't get any results. What should I do?
The plagiarism check is usually completed within a few hours, but depending on the circumstances—and for larger papers—it may take a little longer. Please be sure to check your spam folder several times!
In rare cases, an email may unfortunately get lost in our system. But that’s no problem! If you haven’t received your results within 24 hours, please contact us at info@oeh-mci.at, specifying the file name of your work and the email address you used to register. We’ll then send you the results manually!
How long will the plagiarism check take?
The plagiarism check should normally be completed and available within a few hours. Of course, the duration also depends on the file size. Please allow enough time for the check, as it is performed by an external service provider and we have no control over the actual duration. Any difficulties or high system load may increase the time required for the plagiarism check. The öh mci assumes no liability for this.
Is there a file size limit for uploads?
Yes, the file must be no larger than 96 MB.
Please keep in mind that a large file may take longer to upload and to process.
How long will the results be available?
You can download the results within 14 days using the link in the results email. After that, the link will expire and you will no longer be able to download the results.
Is the plagiarism check free?
Yes, three reviews are free of charge. It is not possible to request repeat reviews of the same paper or to review papers marked as “restricted.”
I'm having trouble registering or logging in.
Please keep the following points in mind:
- You must use the @mci4me.at email address to register.
- After registering, you will receive an email at the address you provided, containing a confirmation link. The plagiarism check can only be performed once you have clicked on this link.
- If possible, use Google Chrome for the plagiarism check.
